Aloe Vera Research

Original research newsletters by Dr Lawrence Plaskett, PhD, FRSC. Written over decades of investigation into the biochemistry and therapeutic applications of Aloe vera.

Dr Plaskett's Aloe vera research represents some of his most distinctive work. As a Cambridge-trained biochemist, he brought a level of scientific rigour to the study of Aloe vera that was unusual in the field, examining its compounds, mechanisms of action, and therapeutic applications through the lens of established biochemistry.

These newsletters were originally published as part of his ongoing research and teaching. They cover everything from the basic compounds found in Aloe vera to its applications in supporting immune function, managing inflammation, and aiding recovery from injury.

Each newsletter is available to read online and as a downloadable PDF.
